These little kids go through a difficult time in trying to make their ends meet for themselves and their families – most of them having only parent to feed them! The conditions and the environment these kids belong to is one the most important aspects that need attention. These kids generally belong to extremely poor people. And given these conditions, we really cannot expect them to think so much as to what action is legal and what action is not. All that they need is surety that they will be able to get the next meal for themselves and their families. The question that comes to mind then is how to assure that they do not get into acts that are against the larger interests of the society? Following are some points to consider.

Take a look around. Look out for a child who is in bad condition and who is in need for money to support his/her family. The least you can do is to hire him and ask him to help you in household chores and you can ask them to run errands for groceries and pet walk etc. Doing so will occupy his time and will help him make some cash also.

Educate. While they are with you, fix one or two days, or couple of hours each day, to train and teach them! This way they will be able to gain on their educational loss also and will adapt to the needs of today.

Once they are with you and you think they have developed the right attitude and pro social behavior, you can refer those to better and higher paying jobs and assignments also. This will help them grow and move with the requirements of modern times.
